Dear visitor,
Welcome to my home page, which will be expanding slowly to include a variety of things that interest me and hopefully you . What gets added when all depends on how much time I can find to play and how much help Alison wants to produce her pages. So lettuce start with a bit about myself:
I'm a handsome, seven foot tall, muscular, eighty seven year old and still single, although Alison says that's a fib. I work as a tram test pilot, although I always wanted to be a lumberjack. I'm fluent in four different languages as long as I only have to order beer or inform someone that my hovercraft is full of eels. If you want to read the work related stuff you can look at my Curriculum Vitae , but be warned it's a bit dull unless you're looking to offer me a job. By the way Alison isn't looking now so any women who fancy - oh no she's back... as I was saying I think it's time for a bit about my interests.
I like music; everything from Abba to ZZ Top, that includes Cliff Richard, Metallica, Teletubbies; jazz, big band, cajun and classical music etc. In fact I've even been a famous rock star, when I played in 'Late Bar' at Birmingham University. Of course I've now faked my own death and joined the Clangers on the moon (should that be a capital M ?) where I live on a double decker bus, which I bought from Elvis.
Here are some real audio recordings from my musical past:
In the mood My first ever recording as part of the Kazoo Orchestra (consisting of myself and my brother Dr Peter).
The umbrella song My brother on guitar, me singing - an early work of art.
Satan Ate my fish - Late Bar This was our thrash metal track although being keyboard player all I did was add some extra drums.
I enjoy sports and regularly play five-a-side football, swim, play badminton at Horsham Arun Badminton Club, go jiving and have tried a wide range of other activities such as archery, fencing, squash, tennis, karting, jet-skiing, paint ball, chess and a press-up. Yesterday I took up golf and will be turning professional shortly.
I can read and write and particularly enjoy my 'My Little Pony' colouring book. I can also recommend the Discworld books by Terry Pratchett, the Gap series by Stephen Donaldson and Landranger 32 South Skye by Ordnance Survey (did I mention that I like walking and camping).
My favourite TV programmes include Monty Python, Red Dwarf, Star Trek (original, Next Generation, Voyager and Deep Space 9), the X files and the Roadrunner and the Pinky and the Brain cartoons.
My favourite films include everything by Monty Python, Mars Attack, The Little Shop of Horrors, Young Frankenstein, Pulp Fiction and Bad Taste.
I can juggle (look Mum it's me); no problems with Mill's Mess, but I haven't mastered the 5 ball cascade yet; and enjoy making cocktails although I haven't dared to try combining the two yet.
I appreciate good beer and a nice malt whisky. So here's a picture of me enjoying a fine malt - on the rocks, but without ice:
By the way, I am also a member of SERF and a black belt at origami.
Well that's all for now folks.
Stay Alert !!
